Google Workspace offers three key improvements — an integrated user experience, new brand identity, and new ways to get started with different solutions.

To use this tool, your Google Workspace account must be at least 30 days old, and you must be the administrator. You should also have 2-step verification turned on for your account, and have less than 1000 users on your account.

Deleting your Google Workspace account is pretty straightforward, where you first:

1. Sign in to your Google Admin console with your super administrative privileges, and not your current Google account.

2. From the menu, click on Billing, and then Subscriptions.

3. Locate the subscription you wish to cancel, and click Cancel Subscription.

4. You will be asked for the reason for cancellation, so select and click Cancel.

5. Lastly confirm your cancellation by clicking Yes, I am sure.

Restoring Deleted Gmail Account Data

Now that you know how to backup and delete Gmail data and account, let’s take a look at how to restore deleted Gmail account data in case the need arises. But if course, to restore Gmail account data, you will need the backup file.

However, when you unzip the Gmail backup file, you will see several .MBOX files, which can be cumbersome to view to say the least. To restore Gmail account data, you first have to download the Mozilla Thunderbird email client.

After you’re logged onto Thunderbird, click on Tools, and then Add-ons, and then search for the ImportExportTools from the add-on section, and install it. Now go back to the local folders tab, click on tools, and select Import .MBOX file, and then locate the .MBOX in your Google Gmail backup unzipped file.

Depending on the number of emails you have, the add-on may take time to load your emails into Thunderbird, but you will see them pop as they’re loaded. Now you can select the emails you want to restore, and drag and drop them by clicking on the Gmail accounts inbox option.

Final Thoughts

Gmail is perhaps the best free email service provider, but does have issues! Good news is that deleting Gmail account on MAC or PC is easy, but make sure you create a backup, so that you can restore it in the event you need the deleted emails at a later time.
