Jorge tinha saudades de sua irmã e de sua esposa. Desde que elas haviam falecido, dois anos atrás, batera-lhe o desejo de ter suas notícias. Temeroso e desconfiado, Jorge entrou no recinto, conduzido pelo amigo Gabriel. Logo ficou intrigado com os ruídos e batidas produzidos espontaneamente por uma pequena mesa, sem que alguém estivesse próximo dela. Não tardou para que ele respondesse, aproximando-se de Jorge e batendo três vezes sobre as suas mãos, colocadas sobre o joelho. Satisfeito esse pedido mental, convenceu-se da veracidade dos fatos. Pediu ainda à entidade que se manifestasse em sua casa. Nada disse a qualquer pessoa, nem mesmo ao amigo Gabriel. Com o passar dos dias, imerso em suas atividades, Jorge esqueceu-se do assunto.
Certa noite, quando nem se lembrava mais da comunicação mediúnica, Jorge foi despertado em sobressalto pelo rumor de três fortes golpes, que pareciam ter sido produzidos com os nós dos dedos em um móvel. Pensou que o filho estivesse chamando-o. Foi até o seu quarto e tudo estava quieto e em ordem, bem como nos demais cômodos da casa. Na manhã, nem o filho, nem os empregados da casa haviam ouvido qualquer ruído, durante a noite. Foi quando se lembrou do pedido que havia feito na sessão em que a esposa e a irmã haviam se comunicado.
Jorge retornou a uma outra sessão na mesma casa e perguntou ao mentor espiritual se poderia reproduzir o que havia ocorrido em sua residência. A partir daí, não precisaremos mais de fenômenos mediúnicos para nos convencerem e nos despertarem para a imortalidade, porquanto já estaremos vivendo a moral do Cristo em nosso coração, em perfeita identificação com a espiritualidade e com os entes queridos que partiram desta existência.
